Jean Claude Van Damme wants "Avengers" role
Jean Claude Van Damme wants to appear in 'The Avengers 2'.
The 'Expendables 2' star was happy to learn that Chris Hemsworth - who plays Thor in the Marvel series - wanted him to land a role in the forthcoming comic book caper and admitted he has always been a fan of the franchise and its former president and chairman Stan Lee.
He wrote on Facebook:''It was my pleasure to meet Mr Stan Lee back in 1994, along with Mr Samuel & Mr Victor Hadida.
''I read that Chris Hemsworth (Thor) would like me to co-star in 'The Avengers 2' movie! Well, it would be fun to play one of these types of amazing comic book characters again.''
The 52-year-old actor went on to suggest a number of comic book characters he'd like to be considered for, both within the Marvel world and from other comic books.
He added: ''By the way, I am a big fan of Marvel's superhero Silver Surfer and also another heroic fictional character known as Doc Savage - the Man of Bronze!''
He later wrote: ''I see many of you are talking about ''Iron Fist''. Sure, that's one DAMME cool character too! (sic)''
'The Avengers 2' is scheduled for release on May 1, 2015.
